Aromatherapy - Insomnia Blend

INSOMNIA BLEND
Try burning a blend containing Marjoram in your bedroom in the evening to help with insomnia. Marjoram blends well with many oils, try it with other oils known for their soothing, calming effects: Lavender and Mandarin are two that can be used with Marjoram a lot, or try substituting Mandarin with other oils you love - citrus ones like Tangerine or Orange will also give this blend a nice lift. A mix of these three also makes a great bath blend - add a total of 8-10 drops to a warm bath to relax before bedtime.
SLUMBER BLEND 10ml oil, containing pure French Lavender, Marjoram and Mandarin oils.

Emotionally Reactive

Emotionally Reactive
Feeling sensitive could cause a person to overreact when responding to others. In order to not abuse those closest or ruin new relationships, whether business or personal, one should try to respond from a higher place within oneself. All that is needed is to take a step back, rise above the emotions and respond from a calmer place within us. it may take practice to do this consistently, but it will save hurt feelings and reduce unnecessary drama in one's life.

Emotions colour out thoughts as well as our actions, so it is important to learn to recognize when we are reacting from the influence of something other than our best judgement. Since our thoughts create our world, we want to consciously create the best experience we can. when we catch ourselves caught in negative thought patterns, taking a deep and cleansing breath and connecting to our centre helps us find forgiveness and balance. Making a habit of breathing before we think or act could help us live from the higher place within ourselves all the time.

Lemon Thyme
Thyme is one of Nature's antibiotics. At the outset of colds and flu, make an infusion with half a cup of fresh herbs to a cupful of boiling water, cover and stand for 10 minutes, then add a tablespoon of honey and drink while warm. It aids with coughs, too.

This herb also boosts the immune system. Eat it with your meat dishes, use it in marinades for beef and pork dishes, it adds a great lemon aroma and herby flavour to your roast meat dishes.

Aromatherapy Hand Cream

Hand Cream Recipe

Aromatherapy hand creams moisturise dry skin and help to heal minor skin abrasions. The lemon essential oil helps to fade any discoloured skin on the hands, and the benzoin helps to heal paper cuts, etc. The cream set easily because natural, unrefined coconut oil is solid a room temperature, but the cream easily liquefies on contact with warm skin. Such hand creams are deeply moisturizing and take a little longer than commercial brands to be fully absorbed.

Ingredients
75g of unfractionated coconut oil
heat resistant glass bowl
pan of hot water
25ml of sweet almond oil
8 drops each of lavender and lemon
4 drops of benzoin
a large glass jar

Put the coconut oil in the glass bowl, placed inside a pan of hot water over gentle heat. Once the coconut oil has melted, add the sweet almond oil and stir until the mixture is thoroughly blended.

Remove the pan from the heat, and stir in the lavender and lemon, and the benzoin. Mix them in thoroughly, then pour into glass jar while still warm and liquid.
